Today, I spoke with one of the programme managers at the Owerri Digital Village, Makuo. I called him to wish him a Merry Christmas. Makuo was at Church when I called and I could hear an abundance of joyful singing in the background.
Makuo is from Awka, Anambra state. During the holidays, he leaves Owerri and returns to his family in Awka. AAs in many other parts of Nigeria, during Christmas there are lots of festivities including religious worship, dancing, music and food.
Merry Christmas to the YTF team in Nigeria. e kuu odun (Merry Christmas in Yoruba)!
